Honestrascals
A dusk forest path

The code

A little honest mischief on behalf of better goods.

We are not a mall with a conscience sticker. We are a short list with a habit of taking from the overfed catalogs and giving the room back. The wood keeps a short list. The house is built to become the house brands come to when they mean what they pack.

I

Take from the clutter

We steal attention from catalogs that sell everything and stand behind nothing. Forty thousand SKUs is not a choice. It is a fog.

II

Give to the worthy

That attention is returned to makers who still pack what they promise. The stage will get larger. It will not get louder. The light stays honest.

III

Keep the list short

A rascal’s honour is restraint. If it does not deserve trust, it does not get in — no matter how well it would sell.

What we refuse

The code is as much about the door we keep shut as the one we open. These are the easy no’s.

We will not list the obvious

If a product needs a shouting badge to explain itself, it is already too loud for this shelf.

We will not hide the goods

Opaque pouches, mystery grades, and “assorted” mixes that bury the broken bits are a hard no.

We will not play middleman theatre

No inflated compare-at prices. No fake urgency. No reviews we did not read with our own mouths.

We will not grow for the sake of growing

A longer list is not a better company. We will become the house brands come to when they mean what they pack — without becoming a mall.

How a brand gets in

Apply. We open the jar. Then we decide.

  1. 01 — You tell us what you make, and why it deserves a short list.
  2. 02 — We taste, we read the pack, we ask who actually stands behind it.
  3. 03 — If it passes, it is listed. If it does not, you hear that too.
